Town Hall
Rep. Sayama was able to host his first in-person Town Hall at the Tzu Chi Academy. Attendees were able to vote on topics that they wish to discuss and have questions on. Big mahalo to Tzu Chi Academy for allowing Rep. Sayama to utilize their facilities.
Principal of the Year
Rep. Sayama awarded Dr. Reid Kuba, former principal of Jarrett Middle School, the Principal of the Year Award for his achievements in elevating student success and strengthening the school-community bond.
The 3650 Waialae Project
On March 18th, Representative Sayama visited the future site of the "Goodwill Building" in Kaimuki. She praised the 3650 Project Team for their community-centric approach, evident from their door-to-door outreach to active participation in neighborhood board meetings.
Visiting Chaminade University: Community integrated College
Rep. Sayama and President Babington recently had an exciting chat about Chaminade University's community impact. They highlighted mentorship programs, clean-ups along Palolo Stream, and Chaminade's dedication to student safety and quality education during the pandemic. Talk Story with House Majority: Tour of District 20
Rep. Sayama gave House Majority Leader Rep. Della Au Belatti a tour of Kaimuki, highlighting local businesses and the scenic Wa'ahila Ridge State Park. Amidst the beauty, they discussed urgent community issues like catalytic converter theft and pandemic recovery, brainstorming ways for the State to assist. It wasn't just a tour—it was a conversation on neighborhood upliftment and protection.
New Beginning: Starting the 2021 Legislative Session
On the first day of the session, Rep. Sayama and fellow freshman representatives stood united in the House Chamber. With tough challenges ahead, including a historic budget shortfall and ongoing pandemic struggles, they're geared up to lead our community towards a speedy and safe recovery.
